About

Rory are I (Keilidh) are a couple based in Scotland who have been together since 2021. Together we have an Alaskan Klee Kai named Badger and a cat named Doodles, who I've had for sixteen years. 

My primary interests are dogs, environments, wildlife and folklore. As of recently I am a mixed media artist dabbling in sculpture, collage, drawing & painting with various mediums alongside my usual digital art practice of nineteen years. 

I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil thanks to the influence of my Aunt, Liz Fraser. As a teenager I showed an aptitude for painting but was fascinated with animation and went on to study this formally. I directed Fox Fires (2019) at Duncan of Jordanstone and co-directed Phosphorus (2021) at Gobelins l'ecole de l'image; I was the first Scottish student to attend in the schools history.

I have always held a fascination with colour and light but lacked the skills, knowledge and confidence to act upon this. That interest roared while studying in Paris and I recall wondering how I could create a life for myself where I could paint the world around me all day. 

From 2021 - 2026 I was fortunate to have quite the start to my creative career. Before completing my MFA, I worked remotely as a tutor for my alma mater of DJCAD. Immediately after graduating, I illustrated and authored a book on cartooning for Quarto and then was headhunted to work for an independent games studio. I went on to work as an animator, a story artist and character designer on projects for Netflix, Meta, the BBC and more while slowly but surely developing my own creative practice. 

In 2023, I launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the debut Pedigree Pins. The collection grew to 10 pins within the year and then stalled; I learned a lot from this about how I wanted my work to take shape and to balance artistry with design and commercial appeal. 

I have faced a number of challenges from 2024 - 2026, including a significant diagnosis, major surgery and - as of March - the unexpected loss of my father. All of this has shown me that life is too short to let fear get in the way of trying to build a life for myself off my own creative practice. 

Rory has been so supportive over the years and has recently agreed to team up with me as my business partner. We truly believe that we can grow my work and small business while maintaining its artistic integrity and hope to build something that sustains us practically and creatively.
